How to install Symantec Endpoint 11 step by step (part 3)

This post we will continue how to deploy the client from the server. Last time with the dialog box have option deployment wizard we choose yes

15. Now windows deployment wizard welcome will appear,

16. After click next button, you have two option what you want to do, we choose deploy the client and click next again.

17. The next screen you will ask what the administration group you will use for the deployment, you can choose different group for different policy on the network for example you can type staf group different policy with general group ( but you can move it later the client status group)

18. New screen will appear ask the security features will you use. If you use Microsoft outlook you can add thick the box before the text, either if you use IBM lotus notes

19. When you click next button, on the next screen will have many option that you can fill, you can choose 64 bit deployment package if you have X64 BIT system on the network, use single exe on deployment package rather than many files, and for the succesfully I suggest the silent instalation (most reffer for the domain used deploment), and the last where you place the deployment package, click browse and choose your folder ( for workgroup used you can shared read only this folder contain setup.exe on network for manual deployment)

20. The most last step was you choose will doing deployment now or you just make a deployment setup file, then click finish

wait for the created setup file done, and if you choose yes the domain computer will appear, choose all client in the left then click >> so the client will move the right column then deploy. that all my Symantec instalation step in 3 part, next we will doing something with setup and installation again

Now i will continue my last post about installing Symantec Endpoint 11 After finish button click like this picture

10. Then you can see the 2 option on the installation windows screen, Simple option if you want install with embeded database that came with your Operating system, this option use for less than 100 client. If you choose “Advance” option you must have MS-SQL Database license, create user and database for Symantec Endpoint, and this option use for enterprise system more than 100 client.

11. This time I choose use simple instalation for the simple purpose use, then the next screen you must fill your username, password, retype confirm password and email for Symantec Endpoint Manager log in, type and save it on secure place!.

12. Click next Button and next screen you will see your configuration, print it for the next purpose.

13. Click next and create database process wil run, wait for the momment, grab your snack time

14. If Management Server Configuration Wizard Completed appear it mean the Database configuration running Successfull. There are 2 option if you want to deploy to the client now choose yes, and No if you will do later. (I choose yes but i will write it in the next part, if you click no don’t worry there has Migrate and deployment wizard menu on the Windows program menu ) then click finish

How to install Symantec Endpoint 11 step by step (part 1)

Symantec Endpoint 11 was the latest antivirus from Symantec which replace Symantec Corporate Edition 10 version. With the central manageable for the simple configuration that can handle many client.

Before install make sure :
- Your IIS is configurable and running well.
- Minimal Server memory 1 GB but recomended at least 2 GB
- 4 GB Space on Hardisk minimal.

Here the simple step :

1. Insert the Instalation CD on the server that functioned as antivirus manager and installation panel will appear :

2. Click on the “Install Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager” on installation panel and the installation Process will be running.

3. After the welcome screen you can click next :

4. Read Carefully on the “Symantec Software License Agreement” and choose accept if you agree with the licensed and click next

5. Choose the folder where your Symantec will installed, choose the default if you did not any reason then click next.

6. Next you can choose how the Symantec Endpoint Manager web base application will be main appliaction on IIS or use with other web base application, choose default if you plan have another appliaction.

7. The instalation ready to running click Install

8. Now you can get cofee break until finish button appear while instalation finished

9. Click Finish and the instalation session end here, next post I will continued with database configuration for Symantec Endpoint Manager
